FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
DISMISSAL CHANGES??
Call the office at 636-851-4300 by 3:00pm. DO NOT email, text or call the classroom teacher. Teachers are busy educating your children and do not always have a chance to check the computer. Please try to be consistent with how your child is going home. The same routine is the best & safest.
PARENT PICK-UP BY CAR??
To utilize this service, you must sign-up for it every new school year. You will receive a card to display in your window. If you forget your card, you will have to sign your child out from the office.
BUS CHANGES??
Are not allowed. Students must ride the same bus to & from school.
SICK CHILD??
Call the Attendance Hotline at 636-851-4300 and press 2. Add it to your cell phone! If we do not hear from you, the absence will be considered “unexcused”.
HOMEWORK??
Your child will have time to make up missed work when they return. You can request homework for a sick child when they are absent 3 consecutive days or more. When going on vacation, your child will have time when they return to make up the work. Teachers are unable to provide homework ahead of time.
BIRTHDAY TREATS??
All treats to be shared, must be approved by the nurse’s office before being distributed in the classroom. Please notify the teacher and nurse in advance if you plan to send in treats so they can plan accordingly. Per FHSD policy, all treats must be store bought and have the original food labeling intact on the packaging. We have many students with life threatening food allergies. This also means treats cannot be “manufactured in a facility that processes” these foods. You may also see on the label “may contain” or “that are processed on the same equipment” as these foods on the label. These treats WILL NOT be allowed in the classroom. Thank you for helping to keep all our Castlio students safe while at school. Feel free to call the health office (636-851-4319) for suggestions of classroom treats.
LUNCH SHARING??
This is not allowed under any circumstances due to life-threatening allergies that some students have.
VOLUNTEERING??
To go on a field trip or help out in a classroom or room party, you must be a cleared volunteer. Go to www.fhsdschools.org, click on Parents & scroll down to Volunteer. Watch the video, complete forms and send them to school with your child. It’s good for 4 years.
